A project holds your panels and the line plots, schematics, tables, and logs in them. The Console always has one project open. Make one project for each test stand, campaign, or operator station. To arrange the visualizations in a project, see [panels and tabs](https://docs.synnaxlabs.com/reference/visualize/panels).

## Create a project

1. At the top of the left bar, click the project selector. It shows the initials of the open project.
2. Click **New project**.
3. Enter a name, then click **Create**.

The Console opens the new project. It has one panel, **New panel**, with a **Create component** tab.

You can also run the “Create project” command from the [command palette](https://docs.synnaxlabs.com/reference/get-started/ui-overview#search-and-command-palette).
