# Share projects and visualizations

> Work in the same project as a colleague, send a link, or copy a project or a visualization to a file.

The Synnax Core stores every [project](https://docs.synnaxlabs.com/reference/visualize/projects), panel, and visualization. Everyone who connects to the same Core can open them. To share inside one Core, tell your colleague the name of the project. Use a file to keep a copy or to start a new project from an old one.

## Share on the same Core

Your colleague opens the project from the project selector. The Console saves each change to the Core, and every Console that has the project open shows the change immediately.

The panels are shared too. When one person closes, moves, or splits a tab, the tab changes for everyone who has the project open. To arrange tabs your own way, make a panel for yourself. See [panels and tabs](https://docs.synnaxlabs.com/reference/visualize/panels).

## Send a link

1. Open the component toolbar of the visualization, or right-click a project or a visualization in the projects toolbar.
2. Click (**Copy link**), or select **Copy link**.
3. Send the link to your colleague.

A link opens only in the Console app, when your colleague has the same Core added. A link to a visualization opens it as a tab in the project that your colleague has open. Synnax Desktop does not show **Copy link**, and a web browser cannot open a link.

## Copy a visualization to a file

To export, open the component toolbar and click (**Export layout**). You can also right-click the visualization in the projects toolbar and select **Export**. The Console saves a `.json` file named after the visualization.

To import, drop one or more `.json` files on the panels area. You can also run the “Import components” command, or right-click a project in the projects toolbar and select **Import components**. The Console adds each visualization to the open project and opens it in a tab.

## Copy a project to a file

To export, run the “Export current project” command, or right-click a project in the projects toolbar and select **Export**. The Console saves a `.zip` file. It holds each panel and visualization of the project, and each task and Arc automation that a panel has open in a tab.

To import, run the “Import project” command, then drop a `.zip` file or its unzipped folder on the dialog. You can also drop the file or the folder on the panels area. The Console creates a new project and opens it.

## What an import does

An import always makes a new copy. It does not change the original, so importing the same file two times makes two copies. Files from older versions of the Console also import.

> A file refers to channels by their keys, not their names. On a different Core, a key can belong to a different channel, so an imported visualization can show the wrong data. After you import a file on a different Core, check each channel of each visualization.
