Synnax Desktop usage data

What usage data Synnax Desktop sends to Synnax Labs, and how to turn it off.

Synnax Desktop sends usage data to Synnax Labs. We use it to find bugs and to learn which features people use. Synnax Desktop sends no usage data before you log in. The data goes to PostHog, which stores it in its US cloud for Synnax Labs.

When sharing is on

The login page uses the country of your IP address to choose how it asks:

  • EU, EEA, UK, Switzerland, and countries that we cannot identify -> the login page in your browser asks if you want to share usage data. Synnax Desktop sends usage data only if you agree.
  • Everywhere else -> the login page in your browser shows a notice, and sharing is on.

You can change your choice at any time. See turn off usage data.
