Tables
Show the latest values of many channels in a grid of cells with labels.

A table shows the latest values of channels in a grid of cells. A text cell holds a fixed label, and a value cell shows the latest value of one channel. Use a table to watch many values at once, such as every temperature on a test stand.
Create a table
- Click in the tab bar, or press Ctrl+T (Cmd+T on macOS).
- Select Table.
The table opens with editing on and a grid of two rows and two columns of empty text cells. You can also run the “Create table” command from the command palette.
Add rows and columns
Use the control below the table to add rows, and the control to its right to add columns. Enter how many to add, from 1 to 100, then click .
Right-click a cell to select Add row above, Add row below, Add column left, Add column right, or to delete its row or column. To resize a row or a column, drag the edge of its indicator.
Move rows and columns
While editing is on, drag the indicator of a row or column to a new position. The other rows or columns move aside to show where it lands.
To move several at once, select their rows or columns, then drag one of the selected indicators. The selection moves as one block. One undo reverses the move.
Show a live value in a cell
- Select a cell, then press V to open the component toolbar.
- Click Change in the toolbar header and select Value.
- On the Telemetry tab, select the Channel.
The cell shows the latest value of the channel. To set the number format and when the value shows as stale, see value cells.
Add a label
Double-click a text cell and type the label. To change its size, weight, alignment, or colors, select the cell and use the component toolbar. See text cells.
Color a value with a redline
A redline changes the background color of a value cell when the value passes a threshold. Select the cell and open its Redline tab. See redlines.
Edit several cells
- Hold Shift and click to select a block of cells.
- Hold Ctrl (Cmd on macOS) and click to add a cell to the selection or remove it.
- Click a row or column indicator to select the whole row or column. Click the corner indicator to select every cell.
With several cells selected, a change applies to all of them. The Colors group sets Text and Fill colors. The Selection swatches list each color in use; change a swatch to recolor every cell that uses it. Staleness and Number format apply only to value cells.
To copy cells, press Ctrl+C, then select a cell and press Ctrl+V. A copy holds the settings of the cells, not their values. The table grows to fit the paste.
Show the table without editing controls
Move the pointer over the table and click (Disable editing) in the top right. The table hides its selection, and you cannot change it by accident.
The setting applies only to this Console window. Other users and other windows can still edit the table. With editing off, you can also hide the row and column indicators. To center the table in its tab, click Center table.
Reference
Press V or double-click the table to open the component toolbar. The header shows the type of the selected cell, with Change to switch it.
Text cells
Value cells
A value cell has three tabs.
When the table opens, each value cell shows the latest stored sample of its channel. If that sample is older than the timeout, the cell shows the stale color at once.
Keyboard shortcuts
These work while editing is on. On macOS, use Cmd for Ctrl.
Troubleshooting
A value cell is empty
- Cause
The channel has no stored samples, or it is a virtual channel that nothing has written to since the table opened.
- Fix
Check that a task or a script writes to the channel.
A value cell shows the stale color
- Cause
No new sample arrived within the Timeout. A cell is stale at once when its latest stored sample is older than the timeout.
- Fix
Check that a task or a script writes to the channel.
I cannot select cells
- Cause
You cannot edit the table in this window.
- Fix
- Editing is off in this window -> click (Enable editing).
- You do not have permission to edit the table -> ask an administrator for access.
